Williams County releases 2025 Tourism Grant Program

WILLISTON, N.D., (March 18, 2025) – The Williams County Board of County Commissioners has approved the 2025 Tourism Grant Program, which supports projects and initiatives that attract visitors to Williams County. The program is now in its fourth year and its fifth award cycle, with previous grants having funded rental equipment, facility expansion and improvements, area events, and more.

A total of $80,000 from the Williams County Visitor Promotion Fund is available for grants this year, with funding allocated as follows:

  • $60,000 for capital projects (maximum of $20,000 per application)
  • $20,000 for events or advertising initiatives (maximum of $5,000 per application)

Grant funds can cover up to 80% of costs; a 20% match is required for all grant recipients.

Applications will open on the Williams County website at 9 am CST on Thursday, March 20, 2025 and are due by 5 pm CST on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

Eligible applicants include government or public entities; private non-profit entities, clubs, and organizations; and private for-profit businesses, corporations, or associations. All applications must be related to supporting, increasing, or enhancing tourism in Williams County. Projects must be located, or events must take place, outside of Williston city limits, but within Williams County.

Applications will be reviewed by the Tourism Grant Application Review Committee, with final selections made by the Williams County Board of County Commissioners during their May 20, 2025 County Commission meeting.

Full program details can be found on the Tourism Grant Program webpage.
