Williams County announces several Grant Programs for 2023
Williston, N.D., (January 9, 2023) – In a continued effort to invest in our community and enhance quality of life, Williams County will be administering several grant programs in 2023. Grant funds are designated for improving access to behavioral health services, enhancing tourism opportunities, and supporting community projects that have a public benefit.
Behavioral Health Grant Program: Established in 2021, the Behavioral Health Grant Program aims to add, enhance, and/or increase behavioral health services in Williams County. Applicants must be a North Dakota-licensed behavioral health provider, an organization that provides behavioral health services conducted by one or more ND-licensed behavioral health providers, or a behavioral health provider or organization that plans to offer behavioral health services in 2023 by one or more ND-licensed behavioral health providers. A total of $635,000 will be available with a maximum individual award amount of $200,000; applications open February 1, 2023.
Tourism Grant Program: Established in 2022, the Tourism Grant Program aims to promote and encourage tourism in Williams County. The program is divided into two types of grants: Capital Project Grants and Events and Advertising Grants. For 2023, there will be a total of $80,000 from the Visitor Promotion Fund awarded across two application cycles: $25,000 for each cycle of Capital Project Grants and $15,000 for each cycle of Events and Advertising Grants for each cycle. Applicants must be a public, for-profit, or non-profit entity licensed to do business in North Dakota and the project or event must be located outside of the City of Williston. The Visitor Promotion Fund is made up of the revenue collected from Williams County hospitality taxes. The first cycle of applications will open on January 18, 2023.
Community Grant Program: New in 2023, the Community Grant Program is intended to provide financial assistance to community projects that aim to improve quality of life, preserve historic sites, buildings or artifacts, fulfill an essential community need (e.g., daycare, recreation), or enhance community programming in Williams County. The Community Grant Program is divided into two sub-programs: Project Assistance and Matching Grants. Any public, for-profit, or non-profit entity that is licensed to do business in ND may apply to either program. Project Assistance Grant applications will be available on January 18, 2023; a total of $500,000 with a maximum award of $100,000 is available for the first cycle. The Matching Grant Program is for projects seeking a match of funds to fulfill the requirements of a different grant program. A total of $200,000 is available for Matching Grants; applications will be accepted on a rolling basis beginning January 18, 2023, until funds are depleted or November 13, 2023, whichever comes first.
