Water Resource District Board
Description
The statutory powers of the Water Resource District Board are set forth in North Dakota Century Code Chapter 61-16.1 and generally include the local management, conservation, protection, development, and control of water resources and for the prevention of flood damage in the watersheds of this State; and carry out to the maximum extent possible the water management policy that upstream landowners and districts that have artificially altered the hydrologic scheme must share with downstream landowners the responsibility of providing for proper management and control of surface waters.
The Water Resource Board handles certain drainage issues and complaints; reviews and approves storm water management plans (SWMP) for Williams County and oversees regulatory water usage.
Parks
The Board also supervises, controls, and manages lease sites at Little Beaver Bay Recreation Area, Whitetail Bay (Lund's Landing), Thompson's Landing, Trenton Lake Recreation Area, Confluence Recreation Area, Pumphouse Fishing Area, Lewis & Clark Bridge Boat Ramp, Cut Bluff Historic Site, Kettle Lake, and Ryder Point Recreation Area.
Seasonal Campsites
Additionally, the Board issues seasonal campsites at Little Beaver Bay Recreation Area. All other campsites are first come, first served.
Details
Qualifications: A resident landowner in the water resource district, except a County Commissioner
Compensation: $75 to $135 per day while performing duties as board member + expenses at state rate

Stormwater Management Plan Review Fees
A payment of $2,250 is due up front and if the SWMP requires more than 2 review cycles, the remainder is due prior to distribution of the approved SWMPs to the various County Departments.
