Special Assessment Commission
Description
The duties of the Williams County Special Assessment Commission are set forth in North Dakota Century Code Chapters 40-22, 40-23, 40-23.1, and 40-24, and include the duty to determine special assessments against lots and parcels of land included in a special assessment district created by the Williams County Board of County Commissioners, to make a list of the benefits and assessments for each lot or parcel assessed, to give notice of the list of benefits and assessments, to hold a hearing for objection to the list of benefits or assessments and make any necessary alterations to the list, and to confirm the list for action by the Williams County Board of County Commissioners.

Qualifications: Williams County resident & landowner; cannot hold any other Williams County office
Compensation: $100.00 per meeting + actual expenses

Length of Terms: Initial appointments are for 2, 4, and 6 years, and thereafter each appointment is for a term of 6 years
Meeting Schedule: The Commission meets as needed.
