What properties does Williams County have in tax foreclosure?

Every year in November Williams County holds a public tax foreclosure sale to auction off properties that have not paid their property taxes in the past three years. About a month prior to the sale the list of properties will be made available on the Tax Foreclosure page.

How do I request an address?

If you need to request a physical address for a parcel that has an occupied building or utility, please complete an Address Application and return to Development Services – Building Division. Please also contact the Building Division for any questions about addressing.

How can I make an open records request?

Open records requests can be made by contacting the Department that would have the information. If you are requesting information from a board or commission, or unsure of which Department the request applies to, then please contact the Communications Department. Where do I find election information?

National, state, county, and city government elections are run by the Williams County Auditor’s Office. Find information about polling locations, ballot measures, and more on the Elections webpage. School Districts are responsible for running their own elections; please contact the School District directly for information about School District and School Board elections.

How do I register to vote?

There is no formal voter registration in North Dakota. To be an eligible voter, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid ID that contains your name, current North Dakota residential address, and date of birth. How do I get a copy of a birth certificate?

Williams County does not provide copies of birth certificates. Certified copies of North Dakota birth certificates can only be obtained from the ND Department of Health’s Division of Vital Records.
