Passport Books and Passport Cards
Both a regular passport (passport book) and a passport card can be used as proof of U.S. citizenship and identity, but they do have different international travel uses. The passport book can be used for international travel by air, sea, and land anywhere in the world, but a passport card can only be used for land border crossings and sea ports-of-entry from Canada, Mexico, countries in the Caribbean, and Bermuda.
