North Star Human Service Zone Board

Description

The powers and duties of the North Star Human Service Zone Board are outlined in ND Century Code Chapter 50-01.2. The Board is comprised of local elected officials and key community partners. The North Star Human Service Zone (HSZ) Director serves as the presiding officer of the Zone Board as a non-appointed member.

The HSZ Board serves as the advisors of the North Star HSZ and provides information to the ND Department of Human Services relative to community and resident needs and advocate to meet those needs. Some of the responsibilities of the board includes reviewing services and programs provided by the HSZ, making recommendations for improvement in services, programs or facilities, and assisting in efficiently coordinating and conducting human service activities within the Zone.

Qualifications: Elected official or key community partner. Each county in the Zone must be represented on the human service zone board by at least one county commissioner of that county

Members: 7; one County Commissioner and one community member per Zone member county; the human service zone director serves as presiding officer as a nonappointed member.
Length of Terms: Appointments will be for 3 years after the original expiration of appointment
