2025 Youth Ice Fishing Derby
The Youth Ice Fishing Derby returns Saturday, February 22! Thanks to hosts Williams County Parks, United Sportsmen of Williston and Blacktail Dam Association, the day of fun is back for the 5th year!
The family-friendly activities will begin at 10 am. As you enter, make your way to the registration table right away to get your surprise gifts! Lunch will be served at 12 pm, courtesy of sponsors Grondahl Recreation and OK Distributing, and the 2025 Youth Ice Fishing Derby will end at 4pm.
The Derby welcomes all ages—especially the littles, up to age 15, whether local or not! Participants aged 16 and older are also welcome to fish up some fun with a valid fishing license.
Just bring your own pole and tackle; we’ve got the rest covered! There is no entry fee to participate, and bait will be provided.
Please note it is important that all youth must be accompanied by an adult.
Rules:
- Open to youth ages 15 and under; all youth must be accompanied by an adult.
- Fish houses, tents/clams, and sonar are allowed
- Residents and nonresidents age 16 and older need a fishing license. Residents under age 16 may take and possess a limit of fish without a fishing license. Any nonresident under age 16 may take and possess a limit of fish without a nonresident fishing license if accompanied by an individual possessing a valid fishing license.
