The current Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations were adopted by the Board of County Commissioners in September 2015 under the authority granted by Chapters 11-17.1, 11-33, and 11-33.2 of the North Dakota Century Code, and amendments thereto, and the Williams County Home Rule Charter. Summary of Amendments in previous 12 months:
- August 20, 2024: Amended to add Data Centers (Chapter 6-16) to other conditional uses in Agricultural District and to amend transferability of Conditional Use Permits for Additional Single Family Residential Dwelling.
- January 2, 2024: Amended Article 6 to add Chapter 6-1: Data Centers and define Data Centers within the definitions
