Williams County Board of County Commissioners release application
for $1 million in behavioral health grants
Williston, N.D., (March 2, 2021) –The Williams County Board of County Commissioners are extending $1 million in grant funding towards adding, increasing, or enhancing behavioral health services in Williams County.
During today’s regular Commission Meeting, the Williams County BOCC adopted a resolution expanding the definition of “public safety” to include behavioral health in the context of the County’s share of the 1% Public Safety Sales Tax. Commissioners are using $1 million in proceeds from the sales tax to distribute as grant funds for behavioral health with the hopes of providing services closer to home for those that often have to travel to other parts of the state, or even out of state, to receive the care they need.
Any behavioral health service provider or organization that provides behavioral health services in Williams County is eligible to apply. An individual application cannot request more than $500,000, allowing the Commissioners to distribute at least two grant awards.
