PARK UPDATE

Kota Ray Dam will reopen to campers on Friday, May 23, 2025. Online campsite reservations will open on May 19, 2025, at 8:30 am, for dates between May 23 and October 31, 2025.

About

The park at Kota Ray Dam is located about 10 miles south of Ray and offers fishing, camping, boating and more.

Additional Information

 Boating

Motorized and non-motorized watercraft are allowed, but the lake is NO WAKE. There is a canoe/kayak launch located on the lake on each side of the park.

 Campfires

Campfires may only be built in the provided fire rings, which may not be moved from their current location. All fires must be supervised by a person of at least 18 years of age and must be maintained in a safe manner in accordance of the ND Rangeland Fire Danger Index. Pedal Park

Kota Ray Dam is now home to a brand-new youth pedal park! The park features small ramps, jumps, and several obstacles. Only non-motorized bicycles are allowed.

Make a Campsite Reservation

Online reservations for electrical Kota Ray Dam campsites will open on May 19, 2025, at 8:30 am, for dates between May 23 and October 31, 2025.

Nightly Camping

Primitive Campsites: $10/night
Primitive camping is allowed anywhere on park land, but campfires are only allowed in fire rings.

Electric Campsites: $15/night

KRD - North
There are two campsites with electrical (20/30/50 amp) and water hookups.

KRD - South
There are 12 campsites with electrical (20/30/50 amp) and water hookups.

Group Campsites: $15/night/site

KRD - North
There are two Group Campsites, each with three sites with electrical (20/30/50 amp) and water hookups. Sites must be reserved individually, but are designed for parties of three campers.
